Towing a 1963 VW Beetle

I have a 1963 VW Beetle and I’m looking to tow it (4 down) behind my 1995 Carriage Callista Cove. I have a Blue Ox tow bar but I can’t seem to find a base plate for the VW. Anyone have any suggestions?

You don't need a baseplate. You need a special tow bar that fits around the lower front tube.

This is a picture of a VW Bug tow bar, it is very easy to attach, and works for all years. $100 at Jbugs.com + shipping - max amount is about $56. You might find a local VW shop that has them for less shipping, but the price is right at this place.

    Fred.
  • I towed a 64 for thousands of miles. I had a shop in the Bay Area build a towbar for me, similar to the one posted by rv2go. It towed beautiful.
