Towing a 2016 VW Golf GTI
Does anyone tow a 2016 or 2015 VW Golf GTI four wheels down? I know that VW does not discuss RV towing in their owner's manual but I know for a fact that a lot of people have flat towed various manual...

Check Motorhome Towing Guide (on the 'net)...if any info is not in the owners' manual, have your VW dealer contact their "engineering dept" by phone and have them answer the question. I did that when interested in a Mazda. Dealer was most responsive. While I waited, too! (End result: at that time, NO Mazda was towable 4 down even with a stick shift).
Just because a baseplate is made for it doesn't mean it SHOULD be towed 4 down. Most likely a stick shift would be OK...but an automatic ? All wheel drive ? Better research or you'll find transmission parts all over the road!
