towing a Kia Soul

I am tired of low mileage on the Trailblazer,12-13 in town and tired of having to drag 4600# of metal behind the MH. I am thinking of getting a late model Soul as I think my 330 Cat will be more ameanable to towing 2800#. It also is light enough that it really doesn't need a brake system.
Who out there has one and how do you like the way they tow and drive.Yes,I know that they need to be a standard shift.

  • What's interesting,is that now that I'm actively looking for a used Soul, I have found only one stick and that was an '11 with well over 100,000 miles that was a daily commute of over 100 miles and used on weekends with long trips to the mountains. Of course there were a couple that were priced WAY above my upper limit and blue book. There's not a lot on resale.
  • I tow a standard shift Soul 4 down. I disconnect the battery, brakes off, out of gear, and key on. Don't even know it's back there.

I did install a quick disconnect on the battery. I also installed additional bulbs in the rear lights and ran wires to them and now have brake, turn signal and running lights off the MH.
  • Souls with automatics are not towable 4 down, must dolly or trailer. I know i own two Souls, both 2011s.
