I am new to travel trailer towing and need to learn about towing capacity. I am looking at a travel trailer that has an empty weight of 5,700 and a Gross Weight of 8,700. My 2016 Ram pickup is a 4x4 5...

I've been saying not to, but if it is a situation like yours, with a short but heavy trailer (6500# seems heavy for a 24' TT), I'd go for it, too. I think length was the issue I was having with my rig at 6' longer.
