After doing a little more research this morning it looks like you may be correct. 5,000 pounds seems to be the limit on most gas motorhomes. But I thought I saw a thread here a few months ago that talked about paying a shop to put a higher rated hitch on a motorhome. Maybe that still requires a diesel. I don't think a diesel is in my future. I'm checking out the price of helium.
