Towing MPG???
Hi,
So what do you get for mpg towing? I have a 7000 pound, 29 foot travel trailer. It is probably about 7500 loaded. With my 2012 Tundra Rock Warrior I get a little under 8 mpg. This is pretty bad. My only mods are a TRD dual exhaust and TRD drop in air filter (K&N style).
It seems I l got a bit better before the mods. I am going to try going back to the OEM filter to see if that makes a difference.
The last couple of times I towed it was on rolling hills in Oklahoma...relatively flat, using cruise control at 63mph.
I have read where people claim 9-10 mpg. I just find that hard to believe given my experience.
What is your experience and what do you find helps?
thanks
Matt
