What size tires? Oversize tires negate lower (high numerical) axle gearing.
Stock tires are around 30-31". If you're running 33's or bigger, it will have a major negative impact on your pulling power and fuel economy.
It doesn't take much. All it takes is enough to affect the engine by a couple hundred RPMs. That puts you into a situation where the transmission is downshifting more often and running the engine at much higher RPMs than is really needed for the load and conditions. This causes you to burn a whole lot more gas than is really necessary.
