I read half way thru but did not get my initial thought changed.
You have to have a dually crew cab, long bed, with a super dog chip and air brakes. :B
My approach if I was not in a hurry ( and never had been on changing vehicles), I would try that new trailer on for size. Who knows maybe it will be OK with you. If you go with a big dog, you will still have to use some more energy to pull the long grades. So maybe like me you are not in a big hurry to get up the grades because it makes little difference on your overall time on the road.
