Thanks for the responses...... I just wanted to confirm my thinking. I will be sure to watch the tongue weight closely (remove everything from inside the front of the camper and maybe even the tanks/battery etc.) before moving it.
The campground will move campers for a small fee, I just hate the idea of not being able to do it myself if I need/want to.
The truck is pretty stout as I routinely load the bed with unseasoned hardwood during my winter firewood gathering. It does very well with just a little "squatting".
Down the road if we decide to do any real towing I'll upgrade to a 3/4 or 1 ton.
