Towing with 2015 Chevrolet

We just purchased a 3/4 ton 2015 Chevy Silverado to pull our 36 foot fifth wheel. Has anyone had experience towing with this vehicle?

Since you already bought both the trailer and the tug, it seems fair to inquire:
Why do you ask? Do you have specific concerns about the combination?

2WD? 4WD? Crew cab? Long box? Engine? Axle ratio? Which GVWR option? What is the "Occupant and cargo must not exceed" number on a label on the driver's door pillar?
We need to know all that stuff before commenting.
What is the fiver? What is its dry weight and GVWR? What is the pin weight?
How much stuff (people, pets, things etc) are you putting in the truck?
Unless you got the 10,000# GVWR option I suspect that 36 footer will seriously overload that new truck!!
Not even sure the higher GVWR (vs the standard 9500#) will be enough.
Too late now but the 3500 SRW would have got you a lot more payload.
  • Close, I have the 2013 3500 Duramax. Tows awesome! If yours is diesel, that exhaust brake is a godsend! You won't be disappointed. Good luck.
  • Hi Lucy,
You will need to supply a bit more information about both your new truck and 5th wheel.
What size truck, engine, bed size etc. and weight of trailer.
Give as much info as you can if you wish to get informed, helpful replies.
