Bottom line is what the policy says. I have seen exclusions for war, riots, etc., but never for parking in the wrong place, as long as it is a public street and you are legally parked.
But apparently there is a clause that says you shall not knowingly endanger their property and that's what they used to deny the claim. And she did end up paying for it.
