I appreciate all the suggestions and constructive feedback. My goal is to buy a truck when mine dies that will allow my family and I to continue living our dreams and add a few creature comforts along the way.
I do want to be able to drive up and down the hills without putting my transmission through the ringer. Going up "hills" in the mountains a long ways from home gives me the chills. I also like the braking help that comes with the 6.6, 3500 going down hills. I
I am going to be towing the same trailer with a golf cart, that is for certain in the future. I will most likely go with the 3500 duramax. I did not mention this in the previous posts but I have a chevy dealership right down the road from work and they pick up and drop off my truck, wash and inspect my vehicle any time I ask. The owner is more than an acquaintance. His wife recently retired as an employee of mine. I may end up buying his 2015 3500 HD if we can agree on price.
I trust the service guys at the shop as they all have silverados and tow. The salesman at my dealership, not so much.
