Grub, if maintaining the speed limit in the mountains, diesel as you mentioned all the way! I know how our 6.0 does towing ~9200lbs here in Mi, but have never towed any real weight in the mountains. The 6.0 may do decent, but if the price is right for the diesel, go for it!!!

Thanks, I really don't expect to travel through the mountains at 65, I just don't want to burn out the transmission going up and down the mountains in the heat of summer.
