I would put new rims on that rig too. I know this has nothing to do with your blow out by looking at the pictures. It looks like a tread separation that would not be related to the rim in my opinion. In my opinion the original factory rims look like junk to me. The spare tire you put on there looks like it's on a much stronger rim.
