Track molding

I was wondering if anyone has had this issue as they were installing track molding,I'm installing new 3/4 inch track molding around the entry door on my 27' 5er. As I am working the molding into the vertical straight track all is good but as soon as I get to the tight radius at the top to swing over the top of the door as I get several inches around the turn it begins coming out along the longer side or outside track. After many attempts and still the same outcome I thought I would check here to see if a heat gun may be my friend. Does anyone know the secret to installing around radius? is there a better Vinyl that will actually hold it in place around the radius?
  • Amazon sells two kinds. One is like you describe, the other is more pliable and easy to work with. I can't remember the good one name, sorry. I had the same problem and did some research when I came upon a Youtube video on the good one.
  • So today I went to a local RV Repair shop the head mechanic when I was explaining the problem he interjected as I was explaining his experience was the same and they use vinyl glue and tape to hold in place until it holds. I came home and decided to try it again this time reversing the molding flipping it over starting at one of the radius. It held no problems I installed in minutes with no glues tape or heat. Guess I should have seen it from the start.....

Also remember; don't try to pull it tight. I usually will try to do the opposite; push back towards the section I have already inserted, especially when going around corners. You want the inside radius to be "crowded" rather than the outside radius being "stretched tight".
