Traffic and weather, together!!

Yesterdays errands had me running up and down a 20 mile stretch I-75 just south of Atlanta.

We counted so many southbound RV of every kind, some within 100 yards of each other, as many as 5 or 6 per minute. All of them covered in that slushy gray road salt film, some with snow stuck to the roofs and bumpers. Most of them were HUGE 5vers, followed by Class A's, Class C's and a few TT now and then. All of them southbound and in a big rush.

Where are ya'll headed in such a hurry?

You don't believe EVERYTHING you see on the Weather Channel do you?

  • Unfortunately, we had to head to TN for work from south Texas....lost count of the RV's headed south on our three day trip!

If we had a choice we would not be sitting here in 6 degree weather waiting for the bottom to fall out tonight! Thank God our rig is well built and handling this with ease!!
  • Hey Dutchman, how did you guys fair with this last blast of snow? Here in Richmond we missed the big snow only received about 4" but boy did we get some ice! Fortunately the trees and power lines did not ice up too bad but we have a good 1.5" of ice on the ground. At -11 I guess we will have it for a while.
  • Left NH on Jan 1. Just before the last 18" storm hit. Now in NC. Lots of freezing where we are, since we left. Tomorrow night will be 4* here in central NC. Gone through lots of propane. Have been able to keep our tanks or plumbing from freezing, so far. But every night is a challenge.

    This just ain't funny anymore.

Florida next week. Hope things warm up by then.
  • On the contrary, EVERYTHING you heard in the news about THIS last winter storm is only too true! I don't blame anyone for heading South to get out of this stuff!
  • :B

A couple of days ago everyone was headed NORTH, at least according to the person that posted the following threadstarter at this link:

    Oh and Happy New Year!
  • -55 is almost too much for this old elk hunter to relax in
