What good reason is there for being able to lock up the trailer brakes??
So, you get jerked every time you hit the brakes?
With my Prodigy, I never WANTED it to lock up my trailer brakes..
That's why I got rid of the old POS controller I had before it.. It did lock up the brakes and it really SUCKED.
Now that I have the integrated braking system on my new F150, it don't lock up the trailer brakes either... It's so much better than the old Prodigy too!
Anyway, as long as the brakes engage and slow you down when being applied manually, that's all you need. But, each to their own.. Do whatever works best for you.
Good luck!
Mitch
Trailer brake lockup is a simple foolproof way of knowing the brakes are properly adjusted.
And should only occur at low speed (<25 mph) using 'manual' lever
