I generally feel reporters often get the story wrong, but I'll cut the reporter some slack on this one. He or she is writing for the masses, not for RV enthusiasts. So a camper is anything that you camp in...that is what the average Joe understands. We refer to our travel trailer as our "camper."
And if that sounds weird to you, I usually think of a motorhome when someone talks about their RV. And many average Joe's also think of an RV as a motorhome. Not everyone out there is as particular as we here on RV.net.
