And, your claims are wrong or unsupported. It wasn't "a 2 lane mountain road", it was Interstate Highway 82.
I'm pretty sure that was a Ford Excursion, and some of those have 11K towing cap. TT is a Sprinter Select, maybe a 31, which is about 7,300 dry, good luck putting 3700 lbs in one. So, no legitimate claim that it was too large or that he was overloaded.
The truck was going 65, the speed limit is 70 - if he was speeding, it wasn't by much. From first seeing the front of his TV, until the rear of the TT appears is about 5 seconds. Estimate the entire rig to be 50 feet long. That's 10 ft/sec = 7 MPH faster than the truck, so maybe 72 MPH.
Looks to me more of a case of him overcorrecting and amplifying the sway. But I wasn't there so won't cop a holier-than-thou attitude and claim that's the case.
X2, it was a Ford 3/4T Excursion, could have been diesel even, nothing wrong with the TV. Now maybe he wasn't set up correctly on tongue weight and anti-sway, but the TV and the road were fine. And a Excursion is not a SUV like the dumb news casters called it. There's another version of this out there that gives more info.
