So what makes you think that he would not have broken in to find himself a place to stay?

If I'm looking in an RV storage yard for a place to sleep, I'll first check for RVs whose owners leave the doors unlocked rather than breaking in with tools I may not have or calling attention to an RV with a broken window or smashed entrance door. Thanks for your hospitality! :P
