trailer shade

I have purchased several "mesh Tarps" from Amazon - they work perfectly as a shade screen, are available in assorted tarp sizes and colors; and have the binding with grommets already in place. Also search for "fence wind screen" - same idea, only they tend to offer longer lengths.

Thanks doxiemom11, the Quartzite thing sounds exactly like what we need.

I use an Easy-Up. It is portable and can be moved where you need it. It helps a lot to have some side curtains for afternoon sun. I use old canvas tipi liners.

At Quartzsite AZ at the big RV show they have a mesh type fabric that fastens on the top and comes down, anchors to the ground and provides shade - it's movement is fluid, so wind doesn't bother it. Have also seen shadecloth used in the SE - they used pvc pipe to build a frame for the shadecloth.

This shade protected the front of the trailer, and was stretched from the top of the trailer over the hitch. An effective sunshade to keep the logo and whatnot from fading.

I THINK this is the material we used...it has been a while.

When you say front of the TT do you mean where the doors and awnings are? If so the following may help.

We bought some sunshade material from Lowes. My wife cut and hemmed the material to fit the TT awning. Like someone said she sewed gromments into the bottom of the screen. She sewed some attachment clips in the top that slide right into the awning groove.

Very inexpensive compared to pre made and you can customize the size.
We have had a number of people stop by and want to know where we bought the screen.

The one we saw was on a permanently parked trailer. Don't know how it attached. The woven sun shade material would be great if we could figure out how to attach it to the top of the trailer; it didn't run the length of the trailer, but was attached on the roof just behind the front of the trailer. It was attached securely and didn't move in a 40MPH wind. We have heard there is a "system" for this, or a kit. Can't find anything but rumors.

You can buy the woven sun shade material on eBay in different colors and sizes. I added grommets using a grommet kit from Harbor Freight. Haven't used it yet camping, but I added screw hooks to my back porch for summer sundown that goes straight in my eyes.

Are you talking about a permanently placed trailer? Or one that moves from place to place? I've don't think I've ever seen a front awning.
