Sometimes that means going to a larger size. Sometimes that means going to a higher Load Range. Sometimes it just means using a higher inflation pressure (although trailers are usually maxed out.)

Would it be fair to say that a cargo trailer with axles & tires rated for 10k lbs that is only loaded to 1/2 capacity (say 5k lbs including the trailer) would have some extra margin in terms of speed vs. tire failure?
