Read in some gun forum (so no 1st hand experience) That a person is legal in the entire U.S. transporting pistol if:
---Not barred from ownership (nut case, felon, etc)
---Pistol is unloaded and kept in lockable case (even if a lockable plastic case)
---Ammo is not within arms reach of pistol and driver, or pistol and ammo is furthest away from each other (think pickup where arms reach doesn't make that big of difference).
I hope a professional will chime with info not just his state but all the states.
(Should be informative thread if somebody doesn't go political to get tread closed)
Last couple of years ours has been in safety deposit box when traveling because of not knowing all laws about transporting and if house gets broken into don't want bad guys to get another firearm.
