PS... I did not know bypasses had 3 numbers.
The Interstate systems uses 3 numbers where the last 2 match the highway they are an alternate for. For example I-5 has I-205 and I-405 for bypass routes in Portland, OR. If the first number is even the alternate route will return to the original. If not, it's called a spur and will not work as a bypass.
