Any suggestions for a rv trip planner?
I tried to use the GS trip routing but found it hard to use
How was it hard to use?
it puts you on roads you don't belong and it's hard to drag
First - "It puts you on roads you don't belong on"
Well the following available on the GS Trip Planner...but you have to use it;Customizable RV Warnings - Turn on/off
RVs Prohibited
All roads where RVs are prohibited from driving.
Low Clearances
Show all low clearances below 13'6".
No Propane Allowed
Show roads where no propane is allowed.
Propane Restrictions
Show roads that have propane-related restrictions.
Tunnels
Show a warning for all tunnels.
Bridges
Show a warning for all bridges.
and - "it's hard to drag"
I'm assuming you mean dragging from one road to another that changes the route.
Very easy to do for me.
Safe travels. - old_man_in_ct_Explorer

If possible, read a book or two, about the areas you'll be visiting and then go techno. I like a back story to my tours.
Right now I think I'll be using Google Maps and MapQuest for tracking my trips. Keep in mind I won't have any height restrictions though. - BuzzWolfARExplorerHave been looking at most of the above, but none seem to account for Trailer height when mapping. What will map well accounting for my height?

If you are a AAA member you can log into AAA.com and go to Triptik. You can plan route, find campgrounds, fuel stops and get a print out. You can even bring your trips upon a smartphone, using AAA app. Almost makes membership affordable.
Now there's a thought...thanks. - one_strange_texExplorerI use my iPad for trip planning, using apps such as inRoute (route planner), Trucker Path (big rig friendly fuel stops) & POIViewer (POI data, works well with POI Factory web site). I looked at the Good Sam & RV Trip Wizard sites. They look good, but I think I'll stick with my current method. Like a previous poster, I don't blindly trust route planners or GPS's. I check out satellite views of my stops to make sure they are OK for my rig. As it is, my Ram's Uconnect system GPS does not accept input from route planners. I can only put in destinations & waypoints. I have to familiarize myself with the route I intend & be prepared to overrule my navigation system if necessary.
