Trip planning software. any recommendations?

OK. So I am planning on heading out again east to NY, down the coast to Cape Cod, down the coast to the Keys. I usually drive the interstate and since I am usually alone I look for family type RV parks pretty close to the road. Now I only drive 4-5 hours per day. I would like a software program that could tell me what is available 4-5 hours ahead of "X" down interstate "Y". Is there any trip planner like this?

    Nope. Just tried that.

It doesnt have a "save" function. I am not finding a "preferences" either. pfffft.

I would presume if they're on an internet forum asking about trip planning, they have internet access.

Besides, Streets and Trips (and basically all other software) is out-dated before you buy it.

Google is current to the moment you click, all the time, every time.

  • I have internet access, so no problem. I guess I need to rethink what I really need.

OK, so I joined and all it gives me is time and miles. It ONLY lets me see "Good Sam" member RV parks, not all. And I cant break my trip up into 4-5 hour chunks. Well there is other info of course.

There are more robust software programs out there, but for $19.95, it's the best value.

Good old normal Google maps will do the same thing for free.

Besides, then you also get reviews from a variety of sources, satellite and street view pictures, where the cheapest gas prices are in the area, where the grocery stores and restaurants are and all sorts of 'tourist' info.

Free is really good value! :B

  • Microsoft's "Streets & Trips" is pretty good planning software based on your posted requirements.
And it's on sale at the Microsoft store right now: Streets and Trips $19.95
