i won the only argument I ever had with a state trooper. I could see 2 patrol cars doing leap-frog on I-70 near Vail, CO one year, pulling over car after car. I continued on in the slow lane past them and a few minutes later one of them pulls in behind me and pulls me over.
Of course I got the standard "Do you know why I pulled you over?" and truthfully answered no (although I had suspicions).
He said "CO state law requires you to move over for emergency vehicles" and I countered with "the rest of the statute says 'if road, weather or traffic conditions make it not possible, then slow and maintain a safe speed. What you couldn't see when I went past you were the 3 cars bumper to bumper on my left side of the truck and trailer not allowing me to move over one lane. So, I slowed down 20 mph and passed you with caution."
He blinked and said "I'll just write this up as a contact. Thanks and drive safe".
You know you're old when cops and doctors look younger than your grandkids.
