I would return the L bracket so that it makes the bars level with the A frame or so they rest completely flat on the bracket.
Then tilt the hitch head some more to make up for the lost tension on the WD bars.
You should be able to adjust the hitch as mentioned so that you get the same desired weight distribution that you have now but with the bars riding flat on the L brackets like they should.
By the way - GREAT looking combination!

I can do that. Thanks for the direction.
Front of the truck raises up about 1/4" when hooked up with WD.
