I've heard multiple complaints similar to that about Tom Tom. We've started using the Waze app on our iPhone along with our GPS. It's fantastic at finding ways around issues such as construction and traffic.
BTW, I went horseback riding in Langley when we were there a couple of weeks ago. When you get away from all of the development it's a very pretty place. We really enjoyed being there.
