It is not just Tom-, I have 3 Garvin GPS units, none of them are reliable, especially if there are detours or construction. Actually most of the time if I even have a faint idea of where I am going I ignore the GPS. I just used mine on I-75 coming back from Knoxville Tn. I did not need it but left it on. It consistently wanted me to make ridiculous turns, glad I knew better. Paper maps are hard to beat for route information.
