TV static

Nope, mine does similar when I turn on the vent fan in the bathroom. The television in the living room begins to go goofie. The one in the bed room does not.

I figure it's just an electronic interference. I can turn the fan off. It's a little harder to turn the furnace off in the winter! Good luck. No idea. But the subject has come up before. Folks talk about putting gizmos on their cable and electric lines. I'm sure someone will have the answer.

There's always DVD's you can watch!

As a starter I would snap some ferrite cores around the B+ line of the furnace to see if it helps.

What is happening is that the little motor in the furnace and the bathroom fan are emitting little radio signals when they turn by having little contacts on the shaft that bounce about, those little sparks are radio frequency creators that the TV picks up, remember the old engines with points and some stations all you picked up in the cars radio was the noise, rev the engine and the noise changed to a faster higher frequency? Same thing here.

Go to an electronics store and ask for a radio frequency suppressor, the ferrite units work, some times you need a capacitor, that is harder to install.

Yup! Buy a dozen and just start snapping them on until you solve the problem. Google "ferrite snap on cores" or ferrite snap on beads" Amazon sells them. All Electronics sells them. Any where from 75 cents to a buck each.

The ferrites should go around both wires to the motor and as close to the motor as possible. Also a bypass capacitor could me added across the wires as close to the motor as possible between the ferrites and the motor. I'd guess .1 to .01 mfd at a few hundred volts. This takes a little soldering. The ready made RF suppressor is a good idea and might be a little easier to install; again as close to the motor as possible.

If the interference from a electric motor was that bad your cell phone would not work either.

I don't remember any interference from cars with points. But, years ago snowmobiles going past the house would screw up the TV. The interference would begin before you heard the sound on the snowmobile and you could run to the window in time to watch them go past.

Are you watching over the air signals, satellite, park cable, etc. Does it act up if you are watching a DVD?

More specifics are needed.

Interference from a motor most likely would never interfere with a Cell phone. Such a huge difference in the frequency band from that type of noise.

Follow your wires from the fan motor. Clean the ground. Clean your battery posts and all connections. Your battery is the primary source for filtering in vehicles and will also help suppress electrical noise in an RV enviorment.

Are you using cable, satellite, or over the air TV? If OTA, is it on just HD channels or all channels? Depending on what's being affected, and the equipment you're using, there are in line noise filters from Amazon that you can add that will usually solve the problem.
