Those screws might be three inches long for a reason- shelf/TV combos can be heavy! But they sound awfully long for something that's designed to go on the wall of an RV- who has walls that thick??? In an RV, I mean.
If the hardware was in fact designed for RV use, is it possible that there's some sort of intervening support that the screws also go through?
