Twist on Waste Valve Question

Just purchased a Valterra twist on waste valve as a temp fix for my leaking black tank valve until I can get home. On the way out of the store, the clerk warned not to travel with it on the drain pipe because the weight of it might cause excessive vibration that could cause the sewer drain pipe to break loose from the black tank. Seems like that defeats the purpose of purchasing it. Anyone out there have experience pro or con with this product?
  • Sounds like the clerk didn't know what he was talking about to me. I put one of those on my 5er last year because of a nuisance leak (randomly a few ounces to a gallon of water when I opened the cap). We've run a few thousand miles since, I'm not worried about it causing an issue.
  • Keep mine on all the time. Leaking gray tank. I turn the handle straight up to lessen drag.
  • I have traveled with one for years and never had a problem. Some clerks are clueless.
