TX state inspection & being out of state for the next year

While it may be completely different for Texas, I will have the same problem on a year long trip away from NY. I checked with the local DMV & they told me to call them when I return while still outside New York State & they will send me temporary inspection stickers for both the tow vehicle & trailer. Could be a problem since I don't expect to be in one place long enough to get mail when near NY on the return trip.
