The last four years, I've had to have an inspection report showing the vehicle - by VIN and Tag # - had passed a safety inspection in less than ten months - before Collin County (TX) would renew my vehicle registration.
Wow, I wonder who you ticked off! I live in Collin County just 5 miles West of you and for the past couple of years instead of going in to the DMV office and standing in line, I just renew on-line. The DMV looks up your insurance when you do this I think. Anyway, I've renewed RV, Jeep, motorcycles and a trailer without any problems. One of the motorcycles even has antique plates which means it needs insurance but no inspection. The trailer is small enough that it doesn't need insurance, although it is covered by the RV policy. This year I think I'll renew for three years if that option is still available.
