IMO your going to the wrong dealers. If they wont answer simple questions that says a lot for what you'll get after you fork over the cash.
Just out of curiosity I popped on to the HR site and used my local zip to see what dealers REV had in my area carrying the brands you mention. Of the 9 that came back I can honestly say I would not recommend a single one of them. That's from having first hand experience with 3, and having heard some real horror stories over the years concerning the others, which were actually a chain dealer.
Since you have already looked in TX ,AZ and the west coast, along with IL going by the dealerships in your post and it appears where is not critical, I'd be looking elsewhere.
I would search for Holiday Rambler at RV trader and RVT using "new" and "nationwide" as filters to get dealership names. I would then start emailing or calling the ones that appear to be mom and pop or small operations first.
Thats correct location is least important as we will be flying in from London so it doesn't matter if we fly to CA or TX or IL or anywhere else, the difference in ticket availability and price is minimal.
I have checked one more dealership that is exactly as you recommend "mum & pop" it is called Veurink's RV from Grand Rapids but they don't offer the units i like. But also i guess i can ask them to order.
