Without looking at all the fine print, it's hard to tell what recourse you may have. However, if there is the promise of 6% interest (in writing) and they've come back with another amount, you should be able to stop the deal. And there's always contacting the Attorney General's office with a complaint of failure to bargain in good faith or bait and switch. In some states verbal contracts are held to the same standard as written ones, but then you have the he said/she said to deal with. There's always the option of a truly "in your face" style by standing outside the dealership with a sign about how poorly you've been treated, but then there's the chance of getting into trouble. Another route is if your local TV station has a consumer reporter that might be able to "talk" to the dealer. Otherwise I tend to agree that legal counsel may be in order.
