Engine warm - up
Idling the engine for warm up is not necessary. When oil pressure is indicated, put motor home in motion. Operate with light throttle and limited RPM until coolant temperature reaches approximately 150 degrees.
----------------------------------------------
I have owned 6 Cummins diesel vehicles. None of them have achieved 150 degrees in any short period on a cold day. I'm not buying it will warm up by the time you leave the campground. I have first hand experience in how long they take to warm up, and how crappy they run when forced too while cold. I will not pull onto the highway just to please you and cause traffic to back up behind me trying to keep the RPM down, been there done that. It seems someone will be miffed no matter what.
I will continue to idle for a short period to get things going, if you are next to me so be it. I didn't sign any agreement with the campground owners stating I wouldn't. Get over it, I'm sure there are more interesting things to complain about.
