Wow I did not think my post would cause 11 pages of controversy. I don't care if you want to idle for hours just use some consideration for your neighbors. This morning a gentleman started his DP and slowly idled out of his space to the entrance of the park and finished his warmup there. I too drive a diesel and as soon as I see oil pressure I move.
Maybe there isn't always a area to do so without causing other issues. If you didn't care why did you start the thread? I always have consideration for my neighbors and don't need to be told how to operate my rig. I dont worry about you or your rig and I expect the same.
I have posted at least 3 times with the Cummins documentation in reference to waiting until the tempurature reaches 150 degrees before putting a full load onto the engine. Why would Cummins want and specify to get to 150 degrees before you mush the peddle down and load it up? Perhaps because it could cause a problem? If it didn't matter they wouldn't put it in print.
As far as Idiling out of the campground, sure if you have long enough ride. What happens when you hit the highway and still not up to temp, are you a proponent for holding everyone else back behind you until your coach warms up?
I don't care how anyone else maintains their rigs, I will do what I feel is correct for mine.
