Just picked up our first diesel class A this week. He was probably waiting for the engine temp to come up. I sat today when leaving and it took a good deal of time after being cold for 6 days. I wouldn't move a expensive rig like that until the needle started moving either.
Besides the newer diesel engines burn with practically no smell.
I don't get that. Why does anyone need to sit and wait for the temp to come up. Air yes Temp no. Pull out at idle and get some temp while leaving the park. But no need to wait for temp to come up nor does any Diesel Mfg. recommend it. You have much to learn about the Diesel engine.
Funny, it states right in the cummins engine book to wait for the temp to start to come up. Unless you plan plan on paying for the repair to my engine your claims are baseless. I wait until the needle begins to rise, a sign the engine coming up to operating temperature. I've done this with the last 6 diesels I've owned. Always let them run in the drive before wheeling away. Not to mentioned, there is a cool down period before shut down as well.
Since you are a diesel expert you do realize a Diesel engine operates best at operating temperature, cold not so much. Have at it, break yours all you want.
