Question regarding the "age" of the tires as you state... Is the age you state based upon when you purchased the tires or RV? Or is it based upon the age in the DOT code stamped on the sidewall?

The spare tire on my wife's car is 12 years old. I've had tires last for many years without blowing up while sitting still. I guess I don't see your logic here.
