Update: Herself's new Christmas wish

Terratrike is a very good company to deal with. My daughter has one of their trikes that was ordered for by her physician. They will build to each customers needs as for weight and dimensions, etc...

She also has a carrier they built that uses the 2" hitch.

I own a Catrike.
When I was looking for a trike, Tera Trike was one of the ones that I looked at but it is Chinese made and seemed very shoddy. I rode both,in a few different models and liked the Catrike better. It was lower and gave a more stable ride,especially when turning. I found the Tera Trike would turn over much easier than the Catrike.

It is made in America, in Florida. Their workman ship and after sale service is outstanding.

Where as the Tera Trike is sold to dealers and there is no network for service unless you want to go to china. Sometimes you have to order it and wait for the next boat to come in.

I found This place that makes a very good carrier for a trike and they also make the best anti wobble/rattle hitch vise on the market today and I have tried a lot of them.

Not confused at all, the company is based in Michigan where they assemble them, Tera Trikes are made in Taiwan and shipped to them to assemble.

Their facebook page BTW I bought my Catrike in 2011 while waiting for the ship to arrive from Taichung, Taiwan so I could test drive the newest ones, no stores had any in stock, they were waiting for the ship.

Also a list of all trikes and the mfg country you will notice that all Tera Trikes are made in Taiwan.All Catrikes are made in the USA

I did a lot of homework before I spent my money. One thing I didn't like is the way they say they are an American company, which they are,but the products that they sell are made in Taiwan. That strikes me as VERY misleading. I don't like companies that wave the flag in their adds like they do and try to make you think that you are supporting American made products and jobs.

At Least with Catrike it is made in America using American labor thus creating jobs and not outsourcing them to Taiwan.

Interesting. Herself likes the 24 speed option for steep hills. Does the Catrike have that?

Even better they have 30 speeds. very good for climbing hills

Also most all recumbents have a fixed seat back angle.That may not be comfortable as it was for me,so I bought the Trail that has a adjustable seat back so I could adjust it to my comfort level.

The boom is very adjustable so you can get the correct pedal length.

These features make it easy to make it fit you and get the most comfort and performance.

Thanks much. I did find out that certain parts of the Catrike are made in Taiwan. My guess is that will be unavoidable.

One thing I'm very interested in is the NuVinci auto-shift system. Herself doesn't care for some of the vagaries of the derailleurs. From the Terratrike site it states:

We'll have to test drive both the Terratrike and Catrike to see which she prefers. It's about her comfort level with it too.
