Update! Well on our trip out i drove 2 hours on secondary roads at speeds between 55 and 62. I averaged 8.4 mpg on the overhead console I normally average 6.8! Even hand calculated so i know the overhead is accurate. I also noticed the X wad able to hold OD for a much longer time, even on some NW IL rolling hills. Usually the X will run in 3rd with even the slightest headwind! I'm going to fill up before heading out and check my mileage by hand.
So far so good!
Another update. I just filled up for the drive home tomorrow and i came up with 8.7 mpg! Now a couple tenths of that is due to me filling up before the trip, about 25 miles from home with no trailer! So my 8.4 pretty accurate. A 1.5 mpg improvement is substantial!
