update to earlier thread got my new tires

After 2 shredded tires on our last trip ( always maintained at proper pressure and covered from elements) My new Maxxis tires came in.
Bought them online, delivered to the nearest Tire Kingdom About $400 all in.
Mounted, and balanced, out the door. I carried the rims in, since they didn't know how to lift a trailer.
New center caps, and the best of the old tires kept as the spare, with an additional spare tire, off the rim.
Hope to never have another two fer day, like the one when they blew.
Thanks for all the advice. I should have done this last time.
So much for believing a local tire shop. He sold me Gremax tires, said they were great. Maybe for local use, but they won't go back on any of my trailers.

  • Buy yourself a good TPMS and that should stop the shredded tire syndrome from happening again.
  • Sales people will say anything and really know nothing about what they sell. I had over 15,000 miles on my maxxis tires 13 yrs back . They were a new name back then .

    Best of luck
  • Just as with any tire, keep them at the right pressure, cover them when not moving for extended periods, watch your speed, and don't overload. Should last many years, but they're not bulletproof.
