Hey GD, did you happen to try to find a way to cancel lockup as well? I remember in a late 90's Toyota you could use your left foot to touch the brake pedal just enough to light the brake lights. When you did this you could watch the RPM jump up about 200. I tried it in the Suburban and there was no change. But that was when I was towing and it possibly wasn't even locked up at the time.
