USAA for years provided complete roadside assistance as part of the vehicle policy...charge then was about $12/year. They provided the tow or mechanic when you called them...
Several years ago they changed the policy to reimbursing for services. mechanic for 1 hour, locksmith, Towing to nearest place where necessary repairs can be made, delivery gas/oil or to change a tire. Covers all vehicles. You make the arrangements and get reimbursed...May not be that difficult in the smart phone world..
Bear in mind the RV tow services list benefits as "or".... They will provide 1 hour labor of a mechanic to attempt repairs -OR- tow you to the nearest suitable...If you elect the mechanic and he can't fix it -the tow may not be covered.
I carry GS roadside and USAA Roadside Assistance, USAA coverage only adds $6.50/per six months to my policy but is a good backup..
I've had USAA for close to 50 years- no complains on coverage or response. Auto and Home.
edit: imgoin4it- I may be wrong I thought we had to make the arrangements.. I'll check with USAA...
