What I really don’t like is when someone decides what camping is, or should be for everyone else…
There are as many reasons that people camp as there are people doing it… it is not and never has been one size fits all…
Established camping has rules, they have them for a reason… IF you don’t like the rules, work to have them changed, or move on to more fertile grounds with rules that suit your needs better…
When I started camping almost no one had air conditioning at home… camping trailers didn’t come with AC and DSI gas/electric water heaters, they didn’t have microwaves, or even electric coffee makers… they did have gas lighting and cold water pressurized with a hand pump…
Like it or not times have changed and as usual the changes mirror life… today, 2 AC’s, wall mounted coffee makers and microwaves seem standard, becoming standard are washing machines and close dryers and instant hot water…
Along with the times, people have changed, some camp to be close to nature and others camp to get out of the country… to exchange the swimming hole for the hot tub and the heated cement pond…
Successful camping like most things requires good planning…
you don’t go to the beach if you like the mountains, you generally wouldn’t go to wilderness dispersed areas, when what you want are resort type amenities…
The more ridged your requirements are, obviously the more ridged the planning requirements are going to be…
For most of us we go to public and private CG’s which are designed for wider varieties of people… what we must learn is that in these very public places, consideration is tolerance, and tolerance is consideration… there is not one without equal amounts of the other…
Following the established rules ensures you are considerate and tolerant…
when others follow the rules they are being equally considerate and tolerant…
if that isn’t good enough perhaps you didn’t plan for your needs and wants well enough…
Just as important is attitude…
if you think you are better or deserve more than the rules allow from others… you will easily find what you believe to be a display of rudeness and ignorant people in abundance…
Plan well + positive attitude = a successful happy camping experience…
