While boondocking on the Green River we had a couple set up their RV right next to us and then complained about us using our generator when the solar could not keep up because of bad weather.
I resolved the issue by playing some rap music loud enough to drowned out the genny. I got no more complaints about the genny.
Last winter almost everyone in the Quartzite area had to run generators because of the rain and cold. The complaints I remember were about the amount of fuel everyone was using to keep batteries charged. I did not hear anyone complaining about the neighbors genny. Even the larger solar arrays could not keep up.
Isn't it amasing how everything changes when everyone is in the same boat. I have no doubt that some of those ranting here are also some that have been in similar situations.
I doubt very much that anyone runs a genny just to irritate their neighbor and waste fuel, but I have been wrong before. If I need to run the genny, I will do so, but I will abide by any campground rules and be a responsible camper.
I would challenge anyone that claims they have never run the genny when necassary.
