It's nice to allow yourself to afford fun things in life like vanity plates. And they can be a conversation piece too. Much easier to remember when registering at the RV park.
On a personal note, I always thought it odd that people didn't know their own plate numbers. Policeman: "Ok ma'am, we're on the lookout for your stolen vehicle now. What is the license number?" Ma'am: " I don't know."
