Vanity Plates

I was reading a post about naming your RV. Everyone has their unique name and reasoning for it. We are about to get our new Phoenix Cruiser 2100 and the DW now wants vanity plates for it. In Missouri we are allowed 6 characters, not counting a dash (-) and it seems the obvious ones are taken: CRUZER, CRUZIR, CRUSER, CRUSIR, CRUZEN, etc. Anyone have any thoughts? Did you get personalized plates? How did you find a unique combination beside his & her initials.
Need a bunch of help here.

thanks
  • Our previous V10 Excusion had a vanity plate. THIRS-T, miss that old truck, even though she had a drinking problem!!
  • Ive heard of someone having plates on a car saying NO PLATE..
Unfortunately when police ticket or tow away abandoned cars they use wording NO plate on the ticket,so this person got whole bunch of tickets in the mail one day..
  • I don't understand how my vanity plate could be a waste of money, when there was no extra charge for a plate of my choice.

Since when is doing/having something we enjoy and can easily afford a waste of money? RV'ing itself is considered a waste of money by some folks...

AGREED and it's nice to WASTE MONEY when you want and be financially able to and not give it a second thought. Goes right along with the $8K+ we will spend for camping fees at Ft. Wilderness next year during Dec 2018 - Feb 2019 (52dys).

  • In Virginia, a permanent trailer plate is $100 plus a one time charge of $10 for getting a personalized plate.

The annual charge for a trailer plate is $40, again with a one time $10 charge for the personalized.

These rates are for a 4001# and above trailer.

Vanity plates cost extra. In my state $25 annually plus a one time manufacturing fee of $55 for the life of the plate. What for? so someone else who just happens to be behind me can see it! I get nothing out of it. Waste of money!

Sometime before 2007 Va change the law for permanent plates and now you no longer can get them for TTs only utility type trailers.

  • You need to recheck DMV. I just got permanent plates in June of this year for a new TT. And 3 years ago, I got permanent plates for another TT.
